Target Groups: Young learners (6-12 yrs), young adults (13- 17 yrs) and adults (18+)


Academic Calendar: The General English programme runs four terms a year as follows:

  • Autumn: September to December
  • Winter: December to March
  • Spring: March to May
  • Summer: July and August

Each term offers 40 class hours except for the summer term which consists of 36 hours. The exact start and end dates for each course are scheduled according to the Ministry of Education school calendar, thus we break for school end-of- semester exams and the month of Ramadhan. Courses continue after the break until the course hours are completed.


Term Schedule:  Learners attend classes twice a week for two hours each time. The General Programme schedule is as follows:

Days:               Saturday – Monday; Saturday – Tuesday; and Sunday – Wednesday

Timings:          Saturday mornings: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 11 a.m.  – 1 p.m.

Saturday – Wednesday afternoons:    4 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.


Learner Grouping: In order to cater for the needs of specific age groups, learners are divided into:

–          Young Learners (Juniors): for young learners between 6 and 12 years (Primary school students);

–          Young Adults (Seniors): for young adults between 13 and 17 years (Intermediate and Secondary school students); and

–          Adults: All learners above the age of 17 years (students at Tertiary level, employees, etc)


Course Descriptions

These courses give learners instruction in general English at levels appropriate to their language proficiency levels. We aim to improve learners understanding of grammar, increase their vocabulary and improve their listening and speaking skills. General English is offered from elementary to advanced levels to learners from the age of 6 years, and the curriculum is based on high quality textbooks from famous, international ELT publishers. We supplement whenever necessary with extra home-produced teaching materials to meet individual learning needs.

Below is a list of our General English courses and how they roughly align to the proficiency levels in The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and correspond with the Cambridge Certificate Exams:
